The Festival Buddy app works by accessing a user’s facebook account to determine their perfect festival partner through various factors including music tastes, sense of humour, festival stamina and sense of adventure.

Once matched, you can share the exciting news with your Festival Buddy via facebook and perhaps hook up a festival date through Ticketmaster’s amazing Festival Guide, which can also be found on our facebook page. The Festival Guide is a one-stop shop for what is hot in festivals around Australia and abroad. The guide gives users all the details and purchase links to make it easier than ever to get your hands on the hottest festival tickets.

Another great feature of the Festival Buddy app is the ability to build a group of like-minded festival goers. You can search for facebook pals with similar festival tastes to yours over and over again. The app removes the people you have already connected with in order to build your festival group.

Ticketmaster is committed to constantly engaging our audience to offer more than just tickets for incredible live events.  The Festival Buddy has provided great interaction for our customers with loads of fans using it to find their festival twin. The interaction has also assisted to build Ticketmaster’s Facebook credentials, with loads of new likes following the introduction of the Festival Buddy.

In Australia we are spoilt for choice when it comes to incredible festivals in vastly differing genres. Whether you love the colour and excitement of Stereosonic, the chilled blues and roots vibe of Byron Bay Bluesfest, the slick pop and dance sounds of Future Music, or the down to earth feeling at Beyond the Valley, you are catered for with the selection of music festivals on offer.

As well as having such a wide variety of festivals in different genres, Australian festivals attract incredible local and international talent with all festivals able to attract super headliners. Recent examples are the Black Keys and Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals at the 2015 Byron Bay Bluesfest, Calvin Harris, Tiesto and Skrillex at Stereosonic and Drake, Avicii and The Prodigy at Future Music.
