The Giants’ Round 12 blockbuster against the Sydney Swans was the best attended AFL match at Spotless Stadium with 21,541 fans on hand to see Greater Western Sydney knock off their cross town rivals by 42 points in the tenth Sydney Derby.

The bumper crowd is an indication of the continued success of the Giants, who entered the AFL in 2012. The club may be young, but the team is coming of age with the side looking to play finals in 2016 for the first time in the club’s history.

The Giants have enjoyed great success at their home ground, with Spotless Stadium becoming one of the road trips opposition teams dread. In 2016, the Giants have won every match at their home venue – and by significant margins and over some of the AFL’s best teams.

In Round 6 the Giants easily disposed of three-time premiers, Hawthorn, by 75 points at Spotless Stadium. The Gold Coast SUNS were the next team to be conquered at Spotless Stadium, with GWS recording a huge 91-point victory in Round 8.

The following week, the Western Bulldogs left Spotless Stadium empty-handed, going down to the Giants by 25 points. The Swans could not get the win in Round 12 and Carlton fell victim to the Giants at Spotless Stadium in Round 14, losing by 62 points.

Currently, the club’s average winning margin at Spotless Stadium is just shy of 10 goals (59 points), making it one of the scariest road trips in the AFL at the moment.

As well as being a happy hunting ground for the home team, Spotless Stadium is very popular among fans of AFL. In 2015, the venue was voted by AFL supporters as the ground that provided the best match day experience for people attending matches.

It is high praise for Spotless Stadium, but very well deserved. The venue and the club work hard to promote their matches and get as many supporters through the doors as possible. And once they are there, they are treated to first class facilities and entertainments.

Ticketmaster has had the pleasure of partnering with the GWS Giants and Spotless Stadium since the club played its first match at the venue in Round 9 2012.

The partnership has been extremely successful and we are proud to announce a five-year extension to our current partnership, which will see Ticketmaster provide ticketing services at Spotless Stadium from 2017 to 2021.
