Melbourne International Comedy Festival launched its 2017 event in the city this week, as comedians, agents, tastemakers and media gathered inside Melbourne’s recently renovated Forum.

Hosted by lol-legends Denise Scott and Judith Lucy, the first press conference for this year’s event welcomed some special guest performers as well as Lord Mayor of Melbourne, Robert Doyle, Martin Foley, Victoria’s Minister for Creative Industries, Chairman of the Comedy Festival Board, Bill Shannon and Festival Director/CEO, Susan Provan.

The 31st Melbourne International Comedy Festival takes place across the city from 29 March until 23 April.
