In 2019, Ticketmaster International will be working closely with local charities around the world to raise awareness and much-needed funds in the fight against cancer.

Cancer is something that has probably touched all of us at some stage – whether it’s our family, friends, or even colleagues. The disease continues to be a leading cause of death around the world and this only continues to rise.

In Australia we are working closely with Cancer Council and in New Zealand we are working with Cancer Society.

Throughout the month of February, Ticketmaster Australia and New Zealand ran a donation upsell across all events on our sites, with the hope of raising considerable funds for these local charities.

Over this period, ticket purchasers were given the option to donate in instalments of $2, $5, $10 or $20.

In total, across Australia, we raised just over $46,000 for Cancer Council Australia, and in New Zealand we raised $7,000 for the Cancer Society New Zealand.

From Professor Sanchia Aranda, CEO, Cancer Council Australia: “Thank you to Ticketmaster for this wonderful contribution. The funds raised on World Cancer Day and throughout February thanks to the generosity of Ticketmaster employees and customers will help Cancer Council continue our vital work across cancer prevention, support, advocacy, and research.”

From Mike Kernaghan, CEO, Cancer Society of New Zealand: “It was fantastic to partner with Ticketmaster for World Cancer Day 2019. Thanks to Ticketmaster and their generous customers we raised almost $7,000 so we can continue to provide practical care and support for people impacted by cancer across New Zealand.”

We want to thank everyone who joined us throughout February. To find our more about the work Cancer Council Australia and Cancer Society New Zealand do in your community, head to their respective websites.
