Each year, World Cancer Day empowers people everywhere to show support, raise their collective voice, and take personal action in the fight against cancer.
In 2019, Ticketmaster International will be working closely with local charities around the world to raise awareness for World Cancer Day and encourage our staff, clients, and consumers to join together and get behind this incredibly worthwhile cause.
Cancer is something that has probably touched all of us at some stage – whether it’s our family, friends, or even colleagues.
The disease continues to be a leading cause of death around the world and this only continues to rise. World Cancer Day is the one singular initiative under which the entire world can unite together in the fight against the global cancer epidemic.
The theme for WCD2019 is #IAmAndIWill.
All staff in Australia and New Zealand will receive Unity Bands and for every employee that posts a photo of them wearing the band on social media and tags Ticketmaster and #IAmAndIWill, we will donate $1 to our affiliated charities.
We will also host a morning tea in our Ticketmaster offices across Australia and New Zealand, encouraging staff to bake or bring in items, with a gold coin donation from attendees.
During the month of February, we will be running a donation upsell across all events on our sites, with the hope of raising considerable funds for our local charities. Over this period, we will be offering ticket purchasers an option to donate in instalments of $2, $5, $10 or $20 to this worthwhile cause.
